| this is my own verry top secret chocolate cake recipe which ive found even non-vegans absolutely adore. so i thought I'd share it here with the tribe. be warned its a verry moist, verry chocolately cake and is not for the faint of heart.
1/2 cup cocoa poweder 2 1/2 cups self raising flour 1 3/4 cups sugar 1 tsp baking soda pinch of salt 1/2 cup silken or soft tofu 1 cup chocolate soymilk 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar 1 tbsp vanila essence/extract 1/2 cup oil 1/2 cup water
Preheat oven to 175C
just mix all the dry ingrediants together.
Then blend all the wet ingrediants minus the water together in a food processor or blender (til the tofu isn't in solid clumpy bits)
then add to dry mix with water
Add to a pan, I use 8inch round pans.
bake for around 30 minutes, test it with a knife to make sure it comes out clean.
for the more adventurous types you can add stuff to this if you like. get a block of white veggo or plain veggo chocolate and cut it up into tiny pieces and mix it through the batter like chocolate chips. (I personally like to get some lovely 70% dark choclate and throw chunks in mmmmmm)
If the mixture tastes too floury or too much like baking soda cause apparently it does sometimes, just add a little more soymilk.

| well that makes me verry happy that someone out there can appreciate all the time and trial and error that went into perfecting that recipe.. none of this fake egg shite everyone expects me to use in cakes.. and believe me you dont want to see the sadness that was one of my earlier attepts.. when i tried to cut it it dsort of disintergrated into what looked like chocolatey cat food. | |

| haha yeah... it often comes out looking quite munty. thats where icing sure comes in handy... sometimes , when ovens hate me it will cook perfectly right up until the center and because its the centre that you test to check if something is ready you dont think it is but icm out from the centre it is and i dont want to overcook my cake i take it out then ad use hot melted chocolate to fill in the middle and spread over to top wich also looks awesome. people tink youre a genuis when your realy just covering your ass for stuffing up the cake | |

ours didnt cook completely. and it was in for ages. We gave up and ate it anyways. It was just the centre that was a tiny bit undercooked. | |

| I made it on EA's birthday. I made all my friends sing happy birthday before they could get a piece. Lol. It was amazing! I agree, I usually only found those recipes with like... the fake eggs and stuff. I really liked this though! | |
